The cost is $25 before March 1, and $30 on-site. On-site registration is from 9:00 am - 9:15 am.

This will be a 4 round Swiss event. The time control is G/30. Each round will start as soon as all of the games end in the previous round, with a lunch break in between and an award ceremony after the last round.

This is a fundraising event for the Latimer Knights Chess Team. A portion of the proceeds will go to the chess team fundraising to compete in the National Elementary Chess Championship Tournament.

Face coverings will be optional on school grounds for students in kindergarten through grade 12, staff, and visitors.

What are the requirements before entering the school building?

Visitors are still required to show proof of vaccination and complete the daily health screening (healthscreening.schools.nyc) before entering a DOE building

The event will follow the NYC DOE Visitor Policy regarding COVID -19

I am thrilled to inform you that our scholastic chess tournament held on Saturday, April 6, was a resounding success! The energy and enthusiasm displayed by all the participants was inspiring. From the first move to the final checkmate, it was evident that each student brought their A-game to the tournament. The level of skill and strategic thinking displayed by our young chess enthusiasts was truly commendable.

I want to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to each and every one of you for your participation and support. I want to thank all the volunteers and parents who contributed to the smooth running of the tournament. Your support and assistance were invaluable, and we couldn't have done it without you.
